WAM Journal Issue No. 26×2 was published in 2007. The issue contained 108 pages. The issue was dedicated to the 52nd Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art, which took place from June 10 to November 21, 2007.
The event opens with introductory remarks from Mikhail Shvydky, Head of the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography of the Russian Federation, and Vasily Tsereteli, Executive Director of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and Commissioner for the Russian Pavilion at the 52nd Venice Biennale.
The pages feature the works of Russian participants in the Venice Biennale: Andrey Bartenev, Yulia Milner, Alexander Ponomaryov, Arseny Meshcheryakov, and the art group AES+F.
In an article titled «Click I Hope, ” written by Olga Sviblova, curator of the Russian pavilion, it is stated: „At the beginning of the 21st century, the question of establishing a basic coordinate system—one that defines the strategy for individual and group self-determination amidst the intense influx of information overwhelming the individual and the rapid development of globalization against the backdrop of lost collective utopias—is being revisited.“ The author further asserts that each of the Russian participants in the Venice Biennale offers their own version of an answer to this question.
Reproductions and photographs of works by participants in the Russian Pavilion are preceded by short texts from scholars, art historians, and art critics Milena Orlova, Irina Kulik, Lev Manovich, and Olga Kabanova.
